MICROBLADING FAQs

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a manual "hand" method of permanent cosmetics for your eyebrows. A tool comprised of fine needles grouped close together forming a "blade" is used to create extremely fine natural looking hair strokes.

Does it hurt?

Sensitivity varies from person to person. Skin is pulled taut so it feels like a scratch for most people. Topical anesthetic can be applied prior to procedure if you tend to be more sensitive.

How long does Microblading last?

Depending on your skin type, body chemistry and care, the pigment will fade slowly over 12 to 24 months.

What is the healing process like?

Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. The color of healed brows can be assessed 3-4 weeks after treatment

Immediately after treatment the pigment will be very dark and sharp. The color will soften gradually. It's very important to trust the process and continue with proper aftercare.

Once the healing of the skin starts , you may notice flaking. This is just superficial color and dry skin naturally being removed.

Your eyebrows will be lightest during days 5-12 because the color is absorbed in the deepest layers of the skin. Later the skin cells are pushed back to the upper layers. And the true color will be revealed.

After one month the second treatment is recommended for more longer lasting results, and to perfect the shape. More strokes can be added at this time.

What can I expect during my service?

  • Before your service begins, the artist will provide a short consultation to discuss expectations and results of your treatment. *A consultation may be booked separately prior to day of service.

  • Using the Phibrows golden ratio measuring tool, the artist will draw the brow shape, measured perfectly to complement your unique face shape and size. Shape will be discussed and agreed upon prior to beginning procedure.

  • The perfect color will be discussed and selected to match existing hair color.

  • Anesthetic may be applied at this time.

  • Pigment is worked into each stroke to define the brow.
